सिक्ने सिकाउने हाम्रो अभियान :-

According to various governmental and non-governmental organizations and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), there are 8 million young people in the age group of 18 to 40 years, that is, the labor force outside Nepal. According to government figures, 5 million young people are out of the country, only those who go abroad legally. The government does not even have statistics on those living abroad illegally. For a developing country, it is unfortunate that more than 26 percent of the country's population is young. The lure of foreign employment: Whether it is interest or compulsion, more than 1,500 young people leave the country every day. Every day, three of them return as corpses in a closed box. In addition, the number of deaths on student visas abroad is different. It is natural for us to be ashamed that the remittances of around eight trillion rupees sent by Nepalis who have gone for foreign employment have fueled the country's economy. However, the reality is that a large part of the country's annual budget comes from foreign remittances. Indigenous production is declining, the dependency is increasing. The youths have not stopped going to the manpower company carrying passports. The government has not been able to stop the youth from fleeing abroad.

Along with the rapid increase in the number of Nepali young workers going abroad, the number of deaths due to various reasons is also increasing unnaturally in the countries considered as employment destinations. Of the Nepali workers who have gone for foreign employment, 777 Nepalis have returned in wooden boxes in the last one year. According to the Nepal Department of Foreign Employment, more than 9,000 Nepali workers have lost their lives abroad in the last decade. Adding to this the number of illegal deaths, one thousand Nepalis are being forced to lose their lives abroad every year. Even though the average age of Nepalis is 70.5 years, Nepalis who go for foreign employment spend half of their average age. The government has not shown any interest even though the Supreme Court has ordered to find out the cause of the death of Nepalis in foreign employment. A task force formed by the government conducted an investigation to find out the cause and mystery of the death, but no conclusion was reached. As a result, the real cause of death in foreign employment has not been identified. The cause of death could not be ascertained as the body was brought from abroad without a postmortem. The secret of death can only be discovered if the government arranges for a mandatory post-mortem through insurance when concluding a labor agreement.

Most of those who lost their lives in foreign employment are victims of workplace accidents, while others are found dead while asleep. In addition, the number of suicides is on the rise. The government has not been able to pay attention to a safe working environment, comfort and good accommodation as per the guidelines of the International Labor Organization. Nepalis are losing their lives due to excessive consumption of alcohol, drinking less water, lack of timely provision of food, stroke and heart attack. No one can stop the death caused by natural and divine disasters. However, the rise in untimely deaths is a matter of concern.

The government is determined to make Nepal prosperous, but the situation where hundreds of young people have to go abroad for employment has only caused long-term losses to the state. Even though a large number of youths have lost their lives in countries considered as unsafe destinations, the fascination with foreign countries has not diminished in Nepali society and the state has not put forward a long-term plan to stop emigration. Considering the number of people who lost their lives in famine abroad, it seems necessary for the government to come up with a plan to stop the flight of manpower and provide employment opportunities at home.
