Topic's: "The Effect of Technology in Virtual and Learning Facilitation Class for ELT"

1.Abstract

The effect of technology in English language teaching, at school and out of school, was investigated. Student and parent surveys, student and parent written comments, and teacher observations were used to record the changes made by the effect of Technology in virtual and learning center classes in English language teaching for four weeks study.

In this study, I investigated how the integration of technology in school curriculum would impact the students for learning English language. Technology for learning English language is regarded as one of the affecting factors for students' eagerness to participate English in communicative activities as in the ICT classroom, and in the virtual learning centers. The motive of focusing on technology was to increase interest in integrated teaching through technology in the study of English. The access in ICT is managed through internet using mobile apps like Teams, Zoom or Messenger Group which were available. It is compulsion to continue the study of learners managing crisis of COVID-19 effect. One of the burning issues is to manage internet for all. Parents were found a challenging burden to afford in it.

Our children drop out, fail to sustain interest in learning English language, and perform below capacity. Some have argued that television is the culprit. In the context of virtual classes, computer or android mobile was found the best solution.

Today's school students have grown up in a technological world having access on internet, social media, television, electronic toys, video games, mobile phones, and many more. They are accustomed to receiving and processing information through multi-sensory sources like websites and You Tube links.

I wanted to bring technology into my classroom and virtual classes to incorporate multimedia slides and documents present in computer and mobile phones. In this study, all the students had an opportunity to use media files in their laptops and android mobiles. Portable document format (pdf) was found easiest to display in all mobiles.

2.Background of the Study

Our school children drop out, fail to sustain interest in learning English language, and perform low capacity. Today's students have grown up in a technological world having access on internet, social Medias, television, electronic toys, video games, mobile phones, and many more. They are accustomed to receiving and processing information through multi-sensory sources like websites and You Tube links. Our teaching method is out of date as we are applying GT method in these days. According to B. Brink (1993), “... students look to us (teachers) to prepare them for an increasingly technological world. Fortunately, with videodiscs, we are meeting the challenge by delivering curriculums in ways that engage, motivate, and thrill our students." We, teachers, need to moderate due to the demand of recent decades. So, the tenet of this study is to find out the effect of technology for effective participation of students in virtual class and learning center classes.

3.Objectives of the Study

The objectives of the study are:

  • To find out the effect of Technology in virtual and learning center classes.

  • To minimize the drop out of the students.

  • To increase the learning achievement in English language.

4.Significance of the Study

I've chosen this topic to address the various affecting factors in English language teaching. Firstly, the world is highly affected by corona virus; as a result, students have to abandon their regular class at school. Secondly, students have increasing interests using mobile phones and social Medias for hours. It is sure that students are left untreated; they'll certainly change their route. So, keeping them in the right tract, the action research was lunched.

 5.Limitation of the Study

This study is only related with eight virtual centers of Yashodhara Secondary School conducted during corona virus effect on Jestha-Ashadh, 2077. The ICT integrated English language teaching in Grade: 9 students and its impact is the study area of the research.

6.Methodology

Learning is an extremely complex human process. During my twenty-one years of teaching I have used many strategies to enhance student learning and to teach new concepts. I am still not convinced that I thoroughly understand how children learn. Yet, at this point, I do believe children learn through experiences. They build on past experiences and previous knowledge to process new concepts. As children redefine old understandings of concepts and.....
