Basant Panchami has a specific meaning : Basant means "Spring"and Panchami means "the fifth day" Basant Panchami falls on the fifth day of spring . According to the Hindu religion ,Devi Saraswati is regarded as the goddess of knowledge ,education,wisdom,arts and culture.In every state,goddess saraswati is worshipped mainly on Basant Panchami.
Description of the Goddes:The image of the goddess is all white and her dress is very simple.She puts on a white saree.The white colour is the sign of purity.She is not adorned with jewels. She sits on a white swan and puts her feet on a white lotus.She holds a musical instrument called Bina,in her hands.There are many book by her side.
