INTRODUCTION

The people who are engaged in any profession, they must try to be updated and confidence in their profession. Teaching is also a profession where the teachers are engaged so the teachers also should be updated in their profession Teaching profession is directly related to students, contents and techniques. While teaching, different problems can be occurred there. The teacher should solve the problems himself as far as possible. To overcome of the problems the teachers need to do action research. Action research is the process of learning and doing ownself. Mainly there can be the problems like  students ability to understand the context, contextual problems, lack of idea or techniques etc. To solve those problems the teachers should applied different types of idea practically that is action research.

 


          As an English teacher of Himali region where English is used as the third language, I have been facing many problems and solving them as far as I could. Here, I have done many action researches. Among them one report of my action research is going to present here. The action research was about The improving of reading English text or pronouncing the English words correctly to the two students of class six who those couldn’t pronounce the simple English words also correctly.

 

 

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMS

I have been teaching English in class 6,7,8 in this school, where there are less number of students though the quality of students is poor. Somewhere my effort also could not be fruitful due to the ability of students and circumstances. Now the problem I have been facing a problem that The two students of class six could not pronounce the English text correctly. English is the somehow problematic subject to the Nepali medium schools. More over in the Himali region they learn English as third language that is also the one factor here. Though the professional teacher's duty is to learn the students as far as possible so I tried more the matter.

 

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH

The objectives of this researches are as follow:

  1. a) To find out the problems of two students of class six why they are poor to pronounce the English text correctly.
  2. b) To make them able to pronounce fluently and correctly to the English text.

 

 

ALTERNATIVES OF THE PROBLEM

To overcome this problem I decided the following alternatives can be used to solve.

  1. Showing them phonetic symbols.
  2. Telling them to read after listening from teacher.
  3. Minimizing their mistakes and encouraging them.
  4. Drilling many times to words with spelling.
  5. Trying to know their base or previous knowledge of reading.

 

PRIORITIZATION OF THE ALTERNATIVES

It is not necessary to use all the alternatives if the problems solved by using one or two alternatives so I kept them in the priority base where the first alternative failed to apply the next. The priority are as follows. ......
